Karen Vieira (São Paulo, 1987) is a Berlin-based visual artist.

Her research investigates the structural constraints imposed on political bodies.

Exploring the intersections of anatomy and autonomy, she works across textile, photography, collage, ceramics, digital media, and poetry.

By approaching bodies as a contested territory, her visual narratives confront how systems of power shape gender, identity, and control.

Karen began her artistic research in 2014 with The Naked Lady, an authorial project exploring the intersections of feminism. In 2016, she expanded this investigation by launching an educational feminist platform and collaborative collection featuring works by 30 emerging Brazilian women artists.

In 2021, she founded Nama, a collective of women strategists and creatives dedicated to supporting projects in art, culture, and social impact.

Her recent trajectory includes being selected as a finalist in an Open Call by Fotografiska (Stockholm, Sweden) to celebrate International Photography Day, as well as participating during Berlin Art Week 2024 with her first group exhibition at Soho House, highlighting immigrant emerging artists in Berlin.

In 2025, she completed an artistic residency at Zait Contemporary Art Studies, by Daniela Labra, and will take part in two group exhibitions during Berlin Art Week and at Galeria Samba (Rio de Janeiro).
